Climate Response
What 'Climate Response'! Maybe Nature owns the 'response' but how do humans work towards a balance with Nature in supporting and nurturing all that Nature is capable of? It could be all in the numbers! IoT helps get those numbers in the most timely way available presently.
Look across to the image and we see how well we can co-exist with a healthy water cycle and clean energy that protects air quality and soil nutrician and much more!
Climate Change issues can use IoT as a means to support and nurture Nature to get the right balance back into our co-existance!
Whether over population or handling of waste generally, including contamination of valuable resources like water air and soils that Nature through its processes provides to us for sustainability, we need to do somethng more! Sure we are loosing too many trees and dumping too much plastic into the ocean that is the nature of our consumer behaviours and putting cost benefits first and Nature second. . . . but it doesn't need to be like that!
Thinking in a general sense about where to start, it is the scale of things that we don't actually know without a degree of quantative and qualitative data where IoT is perhaps the better way to gather the information and show it for what it is in a community dashboard to begin to help manage for Nature as a combined responsibility?
On the macro level NASA has so many beautiful, stunning and massively distant images of the universe showing us in awe what we earthlings are as such a small part of things . . . but we still co-exist OK. It also tells us that there are lots of stars and galaxies that form, breakup, collide and evaporate such that for all we know there are no human like distuptors to nature on those galaxies and for all we know that Nature may extend out to include all these Galaxies !!!
So in a thinking persons view for a positive contribution contrasted with activists communities wanting a change for the better, but maybe don't stop to realise where we have come from or what humans might be able to do with and for Nature that is perhaps reflected in climate variations that have been cycling around earth for milions of years, so there is a need to step back and re-evaluate.
So what response will balance our existance on Planet Earth and have we got enough science knowledge, technical capacity or means to alter our behaviousr at least for what our economies also rely on in and around climate variations? Principally Nature who provides the core resources and processes that sustain our existance on Planet Earth has to be supported much more intensively because of the increasing disruptions we create and from what we take for granted from Nature and its biodiversity that largely sustains us without costs.
Data and analytics might be the present means to respond to climate variations from a perspective of having the data to view what is happening particularly with environmental protections so more and optimal solutions can be created. Particularly the machine learnt analytics that is greater than any individual can juggle and predict with more certainty, clarity and long view. Numbers don't lie, so Industry 4.0 is that logical leap in cabability we need to help resolve our natural resource sustainability aligned with the essential economic model of our existance for the short time while we are on this planet.
# a leader is a calculated performer whereas an activist may scream the house down albeit with great intent but has no realiased solution!
Australia had substantive fires mostly created by dry lightening and following long periods of very high inland temperatures typified also by long drought for the regions as a phenomina of Natures capable and calculated response that was followed within days by torrential rains. The dry lightening is probably just as purposeful to Natures processes for its needs in sustaining our planet. However humans were incapable of overcoming the will of Nature doing what it needs to do to adjust the balance so intuitatively and those fires may have taken away some human capital and culled Natures flora and fauna particularly where they can reach plague levels that media and activists became alarmist over but the timely torential rain gave convertable benefits. Where in hell did that rain come from? Nature knows :) Nature even had us throwing all the water we could at it for hydration because it was dry. Funny that :) !
Does it tell us something which is clear to OneSense at least, that we cannot control Nature but we can do some containment while nature completes its processes that we haven't manged to do to deliver back the harmony with Nature we have overlooked! So is 'fire' or its associate event 'rain' a climate change disaster that the activists cringe about? For the media . . . Yes, but No . . . because it can be clearly seen that it is a part of Natures' response using its unique process of regeneration and nurturing for regrowth that is overlooked for expediency whilst we are using unbounded natural resources and creating unnecessary waste without enough regard. This analysis can be extrapolated out in other crucial areas that should help us to harmonise much better.
The logical human response to the notion of climate change consequence regarding bush fires is we must clear and maintain the undergrowth level particularly in uncontained national parks and dense forests that is otherwise the food source for fauna overpopulations and equally fuel for fires when Nature deems it needs to act. We can also fertilise and hydrate the soils so Nature does not need to step in and wind back our excesses or neglect. Nature has so many processes and pathways with infinate capability that always provides a perfect solution that humans can only dream about and partially replicate usually in sub-optimal ways one small step at a time. That all makes sense !
====================
OneSense has capacity to support learning and record some issues of climate impact from human endeavours and naturally occuring phenomona. OneSense may be able to contribute to available evaluations of generally local aspects of climate effects that then allows a response with further evaluations of a broader impact matched with the effectiveness of whatever response is available or impacting.
OneSense envisions a collaboration effort that assists in a change in behaviours and aggregrating positive change. At least that is the aim as a starting point for anyone to make whatever contribution they can as part of the necesary responses that must be undertaken in support of Nature and its natural cycles. Nature like anything else must be nurtured and feed with the highest quality environmental protections and principally for water, air, soils and its ecology with the joint use with your contributions. Email to nature@onesense.com.au and let OneSense know how you believe your collaborative contribution can be collectively applied on good scientific basis, a community consensus, some business resource involvement and regulatory facilitation. We will see where we can collectively get to and what we can achieve for sustainability!
